Alien Flight Student Program (AFSP)
The Alien Flight Student Program (AFSP) is a program operated by the US Transporation Safety Administration to screen prospective flight students who are not citizens of the United States. This program was created in response the September 11, 2001 attacks, in recognition of the fact that the individuals who piloted the hijacked aircraft first learned to fly in US flight schools. The mission of the AFSP is to ensure that foreign students seeking training at US flight schools do not pose a threat to aviation or US national security.
All non US citizens must complete the AFSP application requirements before beginning flight training in the United States:
- Complete our
PFA International Student Application, and send it to us. The AFSP will contact us to confirm your enrollment status. - Register for an AFSP account: go to
www.flightschoolcandidates.gov, and click the "Create New Student Account" link at the top of the page. - Follow the instructions on the AFSP website to complete the online application process.
- Help is available. The AFSP website contains an
